OMS Attendance Policies
- Any student who exceeds five unexcused absences over the course of the school year may be referred to campus court.
- Students are allowed three parent notes per semester. Once these days have been used, students will be given an unexcused absence even if a parent note has been submitted.
- Three unexcused check-ins and/or check-outs = one unexcused absence.
- All notes (parent, doctor, funeral, etc.) are due within five days of returning to school. Notes turned in after the five days will remain unexcused.
- Students may not exceed five unexcused check-ins and/or check-outs per semester. Upon reaching six unexcused check-ins and/or check-outs, students will be assigned after school detention.
- Any student who exceeds ten absences (excused OR unexcused) over the course of one school year will be considered chronically absent and may be referred to campus court.
- Students do not receive a limit on the number of doctor notes that may be used during the year. Students are urged to use doctor notes in order to preserve parent notes for emergencies.
